Client & Scope

Newton Manor Constructions engaged Formul8 to deliver architectural glazing film solutions for Loyola College’s landmark new 3-storey STEM building in Watsonia. The project formed part of an ongoing, seven-year collaboration across multiple education sector builds — each one reinforcing a shared commitment to quality and technical delivery.
The scope required custom-designed window feature decals across two internal stairwells with glass balustrading, as well as a technically demanding external wall installation. Every element was specified to the highest standard, requiring careful material selection, precise fabrication, and meticulous on-site application and coordination.

Our Approach

Entry Glazing Wall

Optically clear film with white printed cross symbols, laminated and installed to the external face of the new 3-storey STEM building. The external installation demanded thorough surface preparation and precise alignment across multiple panels that made up the large glazing area to ensure a clean, consistent finish that would perform in an exposed outdoor environment.

Balustrade Glazing Film

Optically clear film with white printed cross symbols applied to the pedestrian-facing side of 18 stair balustrade glass panels across two internal stairwells. The custom-designed motifs were printed in various shades to complement the building's interior aesthetic while meeting the project's safety and design specifications.

The Results

The completed installations achieved a high-quality, cohesive aesthetic across both the building’s exterior wall and internal stair glazing — transforming functional glass surfaces into architecturally considered design elements. The external entry glazing wall now presents a striking visual identity at the building’s main façade, while the balustrade film provides both decorative continuity and an added layer of glazing awareness for occupants moving through the stairwells.

Our Reflection

The Loyola College STEM building is a project we’re genuinely proud of.
