Owen Dixon Chambers

Client & Scope

Located at 525 Lonsdale St, Melbourne, Owen Dixon Chambers West is one of the city’s most respected legal buildings and forms part of the Barristers’ Chambers Limited (BCL) portfolio. Working with Chapman’s List, the project focused on upgrading the internal glazing to improve privacy while maintaining the sophisticated, professional aesthetic expected within a high-profile legal environment.

Our approach

Collaborative Planning

Worked closely with Chapman’s List to define privacy objectives and design intent, ensuring the selected solution complemented the building’s character while delivering modern functionality and discretion across key workspaces.

Material Selection

Specified reeded window film for all internal glazing to create visual separation while maintaining light transmission and openness, aligning aesthetic refinement with the professional standards of the chambers.

Installation

Installed the film with meticulous alignment of vertical reeds across adjoining panes, achieving a seamless architectural flow and consistent finish that enhanced both spatial rhythm and design cohesion.

Minimal Disruption

Coordinated installation to minimise disruption within occupied chambers, scheduling work strategically around daily operations to uphold professional standards and ensure an efficient, unobtrusive delivery.

Our Reflection

The reeded film introduced a subtle layer of texture and depth to the interior, delivering the privacy the chambers required while preserving openness and light flow. The result is a professional, sophisticated environment that supports focus and confidentiality, which are essential qualities in a legal workspace. The project showcases Formul8’s ability to seamlessly integrate functionality and design intent within both heritage and commercial settings.
