SimBuilt & Monash University
Client & Scope
Formul8 was engaged by Simbuilt to remove and replace existing reeded glass film across multiple internal glazing panels throughout Monash University’s Clayton campus. The project involved upgrading to 13mm Reeded (Clear) film to deliver a consistent, contemporary finish and enhance privacy across meeting rooms, Zoom booths, and workspaces. In addition, standard safety decals with 75mm black safety bands were applied to ensure compliance and visual contrast.
Our approach
Film Removal & Surface Preparation
Existing reeded films were carefully removed to protect the glazing and ensure clean, smooth surfaces for reapplication.
Installation of 13mm Reeded (Clear)
Applied across internal partitions and doors, the 13mm Reeded (Clear) film provides a refined vertical texture that softens visibility while maintaining light transmission and spatial connection.
Safety & Compliance Integration
75mm black safety bands were installed across all relevant glazing to meet compliance standards and improve visibility for accessibility.
Seamless Project Delivery
All works were completed efficiently within an operational university setting, maintaining clear communication with site management and minimal disruption to staff and students.
Our Reflection
this project reflects the collaboration and precision required when working within live, high-traffic educational settings. The 13mm Reeded (Clear) film offered the ideal combination of functionality and aesthetics enhancing privacy while maintaining transparency and brightness throughout Monash University’s interior spaces.
The partnership between Simbuilt and Formul8 ensured the project was delivered to a high standard of finish, compliance, and design integrity. The result is a refined glazing solution that seamlessly aligns with the architectural language of the campus, supporting both its visual appeal and day-to-day functionality.
