FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
You Asked, We Answered
What is reeded glass film, and how is ExpoReed different?
Reeded film is a decorative window film that replicates traditional fluted glass — the vertically ribbed texture you’ll recognise from boutique retail fit-outs and hospitality venues — without the cost or weight of fabricated glass. ExpoReed sits in that category with one significant difference: it’s built to be temporary. It goes up for a specific job and comes back down cleanly, with no glue or residue left behind
What does the finish actually look like?
The ribbing profile mimics the depth and spacing of traditional fluted glass at a 13mm rib width. It reads with the same depth and dimension as the real thing, though it feels smooth to the touch. At this stage ExpoReed is gloss, clear only — there’s no tinted or frosted option yet, so keep that in mind if your brief calls for colour or full opacity.
How easy is it to remove and reuse?
This is arguably ExpoReed’s biggest point of difference. Rather than a traditional adhesive, it uses static cling technology to hold onto glass and acrylic. It applies and removes without specialised tools or equipment, and it comes off without leaving adhesive residue or damaging the surface underneath.
What makes it different from standard reeded film?
Standard reeded film is typically adhesive-based and designed for long-term application — usually 10 to 15 years when installed by a qualified installer. ExpoReed’s static cling application is the key difference: no special equipment to apply or remove, no adhesive residue, and no damage to the surface on removal. It’s forgiving enough to be a genuine DIY product.
