Client & Scope
Caulfield Grammar School approached Formul8 with a clear goal: provide privacy in a large open-plan space without sacrificing the natural light or the room’s welcoming atmosphere. The solution needed to be subtle, functional, and visually aligned with the school’s brand and culture. Formul8 was engaged to design and install a customised privacy film treatment that balanced aesthetics with performance.
Our approach
Two-Point Fade Design
Our Senior Project Manager, led the design and delivery of a custom white two-point fade window film that subtly transitions to full opacity at 1800mm high. This gradient creates a soft visual barrier while still allowing generous light transmission through the space.
Silhouette Graphics
To bring a human and relatable touch, we layered the fade with black silhouette graphics that represent a range of school activities and sports. These elements added personality and school spirit, while reinforcing identity and belonging across the student body.
Integration with Existing Interiors
We carefully matched the film’s scale, opacity and placement to suit the architectural features of the room. The solution sits effortlessly within the space. Neither overpowering nor fading into the background.
Collaborative Delivery
From initial design to final installation, our team managed the project end-to-end, ensuring a smooth rollout that respected the school’s operating hours and workflow.
A Reflection
This project is a reminder of how simplicity, when executed with purpose, can deliver powerful results. The final outcome is a subtle yet expressive addition to Caulfield Grammar’s campus, one that enhances both privacy and personality.
