St Mary's Primary School
Client & Scope
At St Mary’s Primary School in Hastings, Gemcan Constructions sought to create a space that would blend cultural storytelling, aesthetic appeal, and practical functionality. To achieve this, they partnered with Formul8 to install a visually striking feature using our Indigenous range of designs. This project reflects how design can enhance educational spaces while celebrating Australia’s cultural heritage.
Our approach
The Design
The centerpiece of this installation is ‘Shallows’ by Mulganai, a design inspired by the flowing waterways that are integral to Australia’s landscape and Indigenous storytelling
Material Selection
The design was digitally printed on our custom digital frost film at a specified opacity. This material was carefully chosen for its ability to balance privacy, light transmission, and aesthetic appeal.
Installation Process
Our experienced team meticulously installed the film, ensuring alignment and attention to detail to bring Mulganai’s vision to life on the glass partitions.
Functional Considerations
The application of the frost film provides privacy to specific areas of the school while still allowing natural light to permeate the space, creating a bright and welcoming environment.
