AGL Energy
Client & Scope
- Client: Capabuild & Grey Puksand
- End Client: AGLO Energy
- Project Manager: Tammy Roos & Tyler Golding
- Location: Melbourne, VIC
Formul8 was engaged by head contractor Capabuild to deliver signage works for AGL Energy’s corporate office fit-out in Melbourne, working in collaboration with Grey Puksand and in accordance with their architectural design intent.
Originally awarded signage works for one level, Formul8 was subsequently invited to reprice an expanded scope, ultimately securing and delivering signage across all 10 levels of the fit-out.
All signage works were produced in accordance with AGL’s brand guidelines, with physical prototypes developed, submitted and approved prior to commencing full production.
Each level was treated as a standalone job card with coordinated shop drawings, production, factory finishing, quality checking, and installation as one end-to-end process, repeat-delivered across the full building.

Our Approach
Braille & Tactile Room Signs
DDA-compliant room signs were supplied as external and internal pairs throughout. Profile-shape acrylic painted with a cork face layer, UV printed room numbers along with braille & Tactile elements.
General Room Identification Signs
Room ID signs for meeting rooms, collaboration spaces, and functional zones across all 10 levels. The same acrylic-and-cork profile as the braille signs, with UV-printed room numbers to the cork face, supplied in external and internal versions and installed consistently across the building.
Lift Lobby Directional Signs
An architectural three-layer directional sign was installed at every lift lobby across all 10 levels. Layered acoustic panels with a cork middle section carrying the directional text. A statement piece that balanced wayfinding with the design intent of the fit-out.
Locker & Workstation Numbering
High-volume identification across every floor - blue precision-cut vinyl locker numbers and small-format acrylic workstation number labels desk-mounted throughout the office. Hundreds of individual items installed per level.
Safety Decals, Frost Film & Glass Graphics
Blue safety decal bands were applied to full-height glazing across every floor. Vision Effex printed glass graphics were also completed within the project.
Hanging Directional Signage
Metal fabricated hanging directional signage was installed to all levels providing wayfinding elements. One level created an issue for the sign type, with Formul8 providing an alternate design that kept inline with the signage scope.
The Results
- 10 levels completed
- 1,000+ Individual Signs & Items
- 100% Brand Compliant
Across all 10 levels of AGL’s Melbourne headquarters, Formul8 delivered a comprehensive signage package encompassing all signage types within the scope guidelines.
The result is a cohesive and consistent signage system across every floor, with materials, colours and finishes carefully aligned to AGL’s brand identity. In addition, Formul8 also delivered printed glazing graphics adding another layer of branded detail and visual consistency throughout the building.
Our Reflection
We were initially engaged to deliver signage for just one level, but the quality of our early work and the confidence we built with the project team saw our scope grow to encompass all 10 levels.. Expanding our involvement throughout the project was a reflection of the trust established through consistent quality, strong collaboration and attention to detail.
Working alongside Capabuild and Grey Puksand, every element was required to align with AGL’s strict brand guidelines and the architectural design intent. Physical prototypes were produced and approved prior to full production, ensuring consistency in materials, colours and finishes across every level. Delivering a project of this scale to one consistent standard demonstrates the strength of Formul8’s team, processes and commitment to getting the details right.
“AGL is a client with high standards and a clear brand — the kind of project where the details really matter. Being trusted to grow from one level to the full building, and then being awarded the frost film scope directly, meant a lot to the team. We’re proud of what was delivered here.”
